Independent, Fundamental Baptist Churches
These churches are the most closed to the old-earth believer. Most, if not all, have statements of faith that the member must believe in, including a literal, six 24-hour day creation. These churches are the main base of support for young-earth creation science ministries…old earth believers should avoid these churches. The members of these churches should be commended for staunchly defending the faith as they see it. They are very steadfast and unwavering in their belief, something we all should try to achieve.

Their Beliefs say nothing about the creation. However, their Resources page contained an adult catechism, in the form of a lesson, which did mention the creation. It says that man was created by an act of God, and not by evolution. This particular lesson is set up as creation vs. evolution. They do mention that “most evolutionists do not attribute the origin of life to God.” By saying “most” they admit that at least “some” evolutionists attribute the origin to God. The most promising portion of the lesson states “…to discover what God created on each day (does not mean a 24 hour day as we think of days) of creation.” They are open about the length of the creation days. Based on this openness, there appears to be no reason that an old earth creationist cannot be a member of this denomination.
